MOTU Customs was born from a lifelong friendship and a shared passion for the toys that helped shape our childhood.
Kev and Jay grew up in California's Central Valley, living just two blocks apart. From the day they met, they bonded over action figures, imagination, and adventure. Whether it was Masters of the Universe, G.I. Joe, Transformers, or countless other toy lines from the golden age of the 1980s, collecting became a centerpiece of their friendship.
Like many young collectors, birthdays and holidays were eagerly anticipated opportunities to add new heroes and villains to their collections. Before long, Kev and Jay began coordinating which figures they would ask for, carefully planning their wish lists so they could expand their shared universe without ending up with duplicates. They traded figures, borrowed favorites, recreated epic battles, and spent countless hours building memories around the toys they loved.
Life eventually took them across the country, but some things never change.
Today, Kev and Jay both call Southern Alabama home. Remarkably, after all these years, they still live just two blocks apart.
As adults, their passion for collecting has been rekindled—this time with a special focus on Masters of the Universe. While their collecting styles differ, they complement one another perfectly. Kev is dedicated to originality, authenticity, and completeness, striving to preserve the figures exactly as they were intended. Jay enjoys restoration, customization, and creative display solutions that bring new life and character to beloved classics.
Together, they combine these perspectives to curate collections that celebrate both the history and the enjoyment of MOTU. Every figure, display stand, restoration, and custom piece reflects the same excitement that first brought two childhood friends together decades ago.
Thank you for visiting MOTU Customs. We hope you enjoy our collection, our creations, and our reimagining of the toys that inspired our childhood, fueled our imagination, and built a friendship that continues to this day.
Welcome to our world of Eternia.
